Getting back to the gym

It’s so nice to be back in the gym, while I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would do there is no denying the fact that it is good to be back in there able to do some things which were just not possible at home such as Front Squats, Deadlifts, Split Jerks, Bench Press etc.
That’s s small list of movements I have done over the past 10 days or so since they reopened.
To me exercise is therapy, I can’t put into words exactly how important it is to me, I don’t do it to have a certain look, I do it for my mental health. Rest days I find hard, I just have to do something as exercise is so important to me, I really thought when gyms closed I would struggle and maybe some of my past demons with regards to mental health would come back to me, I adapted though and that was key, sure I could not do what I would usually do but I did something at home or outside every day wherever it be a training session, walk the dog, Body Balance online.
It’s so nice to have the option of the gym back and I have been there most days, sure there are restrictions which are annoying, the 50 minute time cap being one, what I do the 10 minute changeover is some bodyweight work and then go back in to continue, use that 10 Minute gap to do something you don’t usually do wherever that be Shuttle Runs, Bear Crawls, Jump Squats, Burpess etc. just don’t waste that 10 minute.
At some point these restrictions will not be there but for now turn the restrictions into a positive, wherever it be what I said above or where there is more room with some equipment having been moved so a circuit with your new found room for example.
Bottom line is gyms are open again so yay!
